First Dutch human campus opened in brainport region
On Sept. 29, the official opening of Brainport Human Campus took place in Helmond. In the presence of some 100 invited guests, CEO Jeroen Driessen and Mayor Elly Blanksma toasted the mission of this campus: to provide a welcoming place to bring professionals and organizations together, to facilitate work happiness and to connect and inspire.

In addition to Driessen Groep, there are some 30 other organizations located there that align with the vision of the campus. A mix of organizations from education, government and business and where people are central. "Other campuses in the region are mainly concerned with technology and innovation. We are a natural complement to that, Brainport Human Campus takes care of the people side," said proud CEO Jeroen Driessen.
Focus on 'human capital'
Mayor of Helmond, Elly Blanksma, emphasized the importance of the Brainport Human Campus for the region. "With currently more vacancies than job seekers and with the focus on 'human capital,' Brainport Human Campus is a very welcome and fitting addition. Brainport Human Campus provides a balance between the region's focus on technology and the labor market challenges for education, care and welfare."
After the opening moment, the guests in attendance were shown around the campus, which now consists of five buildings, in small groups. This allowed those present to discover for themselves how Driessen's dream of creating "an HRM village where knowledge and experience are shared" has become a reality.
Creating Work Happiness
On the campus, creating work happiness has been taken into account everywhere. For example, the campus offers plenty of green spaces, restaurants with free food for tenants, theater rooms, a inclusive coffee bar, pond with a small beach, childcare and original meeting rooms in themes that match the buildings they are located in. There is currently a waiting list to rent an office space, but the current capacity of 600 residents will be expanded to 1,000 in the near future. Holding meetings or organizing an event at the Brainport Human Campus is of course possible.
