Minister Conny Helder pays inspiring visit to Brainport Human Campus

On Wednesday, November 15, Minister Conny Helder, responsible for Rural Care and Sport, visited the students of the Learning Lab at our Brainport Human Campus. During this morning, students from ROC ter AA, Fontys Hogeschool, Vakcollege Helmond and Carolus Borromeus College, entered into a conversation with the minister about the young care employee of the future.

Bezoek minister Conny Helder

The theme of the visit was the Care Challenge, an initiative of the Learning Lab and zorgvoorwerkgeluk.nl (both part of Driessen Groep). This initiative was started because the future of healthcare is under pressure and with it, the work happiness of healthcare employees. Today's young people are the future care and welfare workers. It is important that they think about the important challenges of healthcare and make their voices heard. In the Care Challenge they will use their brainpower, creativity and innovation talent to sketch a future scenario for the happy young care workers of the future.

During the visit the students had the unique opportunity to ask questions to Minister Helder through round table discussions and a question round. They asked questions such as:"How do you view informal care in the future? Is there enough money available - now and in the future - to provide the right care?" These inspiring discussions provided both the students and the minister with valuable insights. The minister was interested and involved and the students in turn took the opportunity to share their views and ideas directly with her.

Minister Conny Helder: "It is extremely important that we really listen to young people and I am glad that I spoke to so many students this morning. I would like to give as a tip: Do you like something? Then dare to get involved! Feel free to say what you think about something and make sure you are heard. Your ideas are very valuable."

About the Care Challenge

The Care Challenge started in October 2023 and will continue until the end of February 2024. Soon the students will go on an expedition to Zorgboog, Savant Zorg and LEVgroep. On February 27, the students will deliver the future scenario for the work happy (young) care employee. They will present their visions to care organizations, educational institutions and the family of companies of Driessen Groep. With this, they offer concrete tools that care and welfare organizations can start working with today.
