Students visit Ministry of Health and Human Services
On Thursday, February 8, the students of the Zorgchallenge, an initiative of zorgvoorwerkgeluk.nl (part of Driessen Groep), had the unique opportunity to visit the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in The Hague. Minister Conny Helder personally invited the students to this special experience.

The idea originated in November, when Minister Conny Helder visited the students of the Care Challenge in the Learning Lab at the Brainport Human Campus. Impressed by their dedication and outlook on the future of healthcare, the minister invited them for a special visit to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in The Hague.
An impressive visit
The morning began with a warm welcome from Director of Long-Term Care Michiel Geschiere, followed by an interactive presentation about the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Then the students were given a tour of the impressive building.
The highlight of the day was lunch with Minister Conny Helder. During this informal moment, the students had the unique opportunity to discuss the future of young healthcare workers with the minister. They also shared the first insights from their research. They surprised the minister with their innovative ideas about, among other things, care-fluencers on TikTok and the 'Young and gray is wise together' initiative.
Minister Conny Helder to the students: "If you just start and show that it works, it will spread like an oil slick. Also, Conny Helder emphasized the importance of initiating dialogue:"If you see a problem, it is important that you share it. Then you can look for solutions together."
This special visit provided both the students and the minister with valuable insights. It shows how important the involvement of the new generation is in the future of care.
About the Care Challenge
The Care Challenge started in October 2023. On Tuesday, February 27, students will deliver the future scenario of the work happy (young) care employee. They will present their visions to healthcare organizations, educational institutions and the family of companies of Driessen Groep. With this they offer concrete tools that care and welfare organizations can start working with today.
